Palestine: the Occupation Forces Arrest a Cartoonist “Saba’na”

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) denounces the arrest of “Mohamed  Saba’na” the wide-known cartoonist on Saturday February 16, 2013 without reasons after his return from Jordon. The Israeli occupation forces arrested him after his return from Jordon through the bridge of dignity to Palestine without reasons.

It is worthy to note that, this is the first time for him to be arrested by the occupation forces. He is one of the known artists for his drawings which comes in solidarity with his people in the “El-Hayyat El-Gadedah” Palestinian newspaper. His recent drawings expressed his support to the hunger strike prisoners, especially “Samer El-Isawi”, who is in his 209 days on hunger strike.

ANHRI said that “the arrest of  Saba’na by the occupation forces, is a serious violation the freedom of expression and to the basic elements of the democratic country; which Israel always depict its regime as a democratic regime”.

ANHRI calls on the immediate and unconditioned release of Saba’na and conducting an immediate investigation related to the arbitrary arrests which established by Israel all the time and its repress to the Palestinian right to freedom of intellect and expression in addition to prosecute them.
